I live on the grid, but many people in developing countries do not. What if we found ways to bring small amounts of power that fit speoific needs to people that did not have access to regular electricity? When I was in Uganda, everyone had a cell phone. How do you charge a cell phone if you live in a remote village? That specific need is what we need to learn about so that we can find a way to meet it. The technology available to us here in the United States has to have an application to those who need it. I have started looking at ways to do this and have come across a couple of sites that show promise, at least in the technological sense. What I do not know is how it all goes together and how we get this stuff to those who could benefit from it.
