An international, low-cost, high-value added, interdenominational, virtual, auxiliary engineering professional society for Christian engineers. An essential purpose of the organization is to be an organizational vehicle to encourage and facilitate Christian engineers being an organized "salt and light" influence in their profession.
The engineering profession is arguably mankind's largest and most global profession. Its 20 million degreed members around the world collectively hold civilization and much of the natural environment in their hands.
The lack of an organized Christian influence within it enables much evil to be advanced in and through the profession and its members work. For instance, Darfur genocide is largely about oil - the fuel that runs the machines the engineering profession has created and which the engineering profession recovers from nature.
To paraphrase Matthew 5:13 "do not blame the meat for decaying, blame the lack of salt."
What is the real obstacle to a viable Affiliation of Christian Engineers? "Love of money is the root of all evil," by I Tim 6:10 and fear of "boat rocking" and the economic consequences it can have, deters Christian engineers from being a "salt and light" influence in their profession. |
